The architects Burcu Biçer Saner and Efe Gözen, who carry out academic and professional studies on digital and computational fabrication methods, found FABB in 2015 focusing on robotic fabrication systems in architecture. FABB was established through the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology Teknogirişim Grant, as well as ITU Arı Teknokent and ITU Çekirdek supports.
In parallel with the global developments in the construction sector, FABB investigates novel methods of production processes and also develops custom applications for the creative industries. Burcu and Efe examine the design/production paradigm in courses, workshops and lectures given at various universities as well as in their monthly column “fabbrication” in XXI magazine.
Our workshop will be on display throughout the Istanbul Design Biennial @Akbank Sanat. Check back for exciting news after the Design Biennial, and our new workshop setting.
