Speck was the main foyer attraction of Innovation Week Istanbul 2015 — a kinetic audiovisual piece built with NOHlab. A KUKA KR60 carried a screen through the air in front of a 3×5m LED wall; the video on the moving screen and the video on the fixed wall were choreographed as a single composited image, the arm sweeping its layer of the picture through space while the wall held the rest. Over three days it greeted more than 50,000 people into the main hall, and drew a crowd — children and tech audiences especially.
FABB designed the robotic choreography and the sync: a large industrial arm moving in frame-accurate lock to a three-minute video-and-sound timeline, looping through the day without drift. Visuals by NOHlab, sound by Audiofil, robotic choreography and sync by FABB.
